Anthonys story
Sports have always been a big part of my whole life, I started playing hockey when I was only four years old and in my teenage years I started playing golf in the summers.

Things I had to face through my career, good and challenging times have shaped me into the person I am today and also lit a fire in my heart to give back and serve in the world of sports. To use my experience to what I as an athlete felt was missed and also give forward to the things that made me grow.

Through my career as a hockey player I played my whole youth years in my hometown Airdrie until I reached junior hockey age and went to play Junior A hockey. Through those years of leaving home from the age of 16 to the age of 21 I got to experience a lot through the organisation I was apart of, and how much of a good impact a coach can have on your life in many different ways such as playing on the ice, growing as a teammate and a leader but also as a person outside the hockey rink.

After my junior hockey years I went to play university hockey in the USA and faced different experiences and challenges in my hockey career but also outside of hockey.

Going through these challenges I realized that I was having a mindset that led me to thinking my identity to who I am was defined by my performance in playing hockey.

As I was going through the journey in university I was continuously reminded of how my relationship with Jesus was the most important thing in life, to understand and to know who I was created to be, in him.

In summer 2017 before my last year of university I got baptized and gave my life to Christ.

Spring 2018 I graduated from university and went to Los Angeles, California to do a 21 day discipleship school which changed my life, and through that it was placed on my heart how I can train and be an athlete in all three dimensions, physically mentally and in your heart.

After summer 2018 I moved to Europe to play professional hockey for 5 years and I was able to apply these tools I learned in a different and renewed way on the Ice but also off Ice.

During my 5 years in Sweden I met my wife, got to experience the European sports culture and also be able to connect with Sport for Life for the first time and participate as a leader on the ice at the hockey camp in summer 2021’s in Skillingaryd.

After my first time attending a Sport for Life camp in 2021, and seeing their work and how it impacted the youth but also myself, stirred something in my heart of wanting to be a part of seeing a transformation and a positive force in sports and the hockey culture.

My passion and my heart is to use my experience through my hockey career to be able to pour in to athletes and coaches through hockey camps, summer training programs and coaching workshops to bring a more healthy culture and environment in the sports world.

I believe that through building relationships, speaking confidence, coaching and pouring into athletes and coaches to grow and develop in all three dimensions physically mentally and in your heart through 3D coaching there will be a transformation in sports but also the hockey world.
